Just bought these gorgeous grey & white pearls for Lisa Eby’s custom necklace! I found them during our Christmas trip to Vietnam. We did an overnight cruise on Halong Bay, where we visited pearl farms cultivated by Vietnamese living in floating fishing villages. The bay is breathtaking with over 3000 limestone islands rising from the ocean… think El Arco de Cabo San Lucas times-a-thousand. It’s inhabited by ~1600 people who spend their lives on a boat surrounded by breathtaking beauty as well as their entire extended family. Certainly not for me, but it was lovely to visit :)

Hi! My company, Ginger & Jade, began with a trip to East Africa in 2008, where I experienced a safari on Masai Mara in Kenya & scuba diving off the isolated island of Pemba, Tanzania. My first collection, Africa, was inspired by these travels & led to more destination-based collections.
I’ve designed jewelry for over six years. My mission is to share my passion for travel & new cultures through jewelry & inspire others to reach outside their everyday world. Each necklace is one of a kind & handmade in my San Francisco studio.
