Haiti Day 4
Yesterday we went to a small village near Bobby’s orphanage. We saw ~200 patients and handed out hygiene bags & food to everyone who came through.
The pic above is of me treating my last scabies patient on the trip. She was a cute little girl with scabies & chicken pox :( She didn’t cry once even though she must’ve been so uncomfortable.
We also stopped by Bobby & Lourdie’s orphanage...

Haiti Day 2
Yesterday we drove to a mountain village 2hrs away and saw ~500 people between 13 of us.
The people were so malnourished that their hair had turned red. Babies came in covered in scabies. Children had rotting teeth & severe ear infections. One girl had fallen off the tap-tap & broken her arm, which one nurse set with cardboard.

Amazing first day in Haiti!
We went to an orphanage run by Bobby, one of our guides/drivers. He is Haitian but grew up in Boston. Then moved back 10 yrs ago & married Lourdie. People started dropping off their children that they couldn’t take care of anymore to Bobby’s house & that’s how the orphanage started.

Today was my last day with Gap Inc!
After 5 yrs at Gap Inc, I decided to leave the company & focus full time on jewelry & metal working! I’m so thankful for the experiences I’ve had and friends I’ve made, but I’m THRILLED to try my hand at something that I love to do.
I hope to go back to school next year at the California College of the Arts to get an MFA in jewelry. In the meantime, I’m...

Superbowl Survival
The only way I can survive Superbowl Sunday is to craft. This is my work station for the day while Jonathan munches on cashews and yells at the TV.
My latest collection is inspired by our trip to Prague last July. The city was a juxtaposition of ancient architecture with modern splendor, so I’m using brilliant gold vermeil beads mixed with smokey quartz rondelles.

Hi! My company, Ginger & Jade, began with a trip to East Africa in 2008, where I experienced a safari on Masai Mara in Kenya & scuba diving off the isolated island of Pemba, Tanzania. My first collection, Africa, was inspired by these travels & led to more destination-based collections.
I’ve designed jewelry for over six years. My mission is to share my passion for travel &...
